Position Summary

Responsible for supporting LHIN senior leadership and staff regarding decision support, data analysis and development of reports and recommendations. An important part of your role is knowledge transfer in guiding staff and providers in the appropriate use and interpretation of data and evidence.

Core Duties - Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and conducts analysis of local health system based on provincial data, community input and other sources for purpose of identifying gaps and establishing planning priorities.
  • Monitors and identifies trends in population health, health system performance, and quality to highlight opportunities.
  • Participates in and contributes to provincial and inter-LHIN quantitative planning activities.
  • Works as an integral member of project teams to provide leadership in the development of methodologies to support population needs and identify opportunities for integration and coordination initiatives based on evidence.
  • Assesses impact of planning recommendations and decisions.
  • Provides advice and input from the data perspective to the development of health-care system funding plans.
  • Prepares and presents evidence based reports to support initiatives and the IHSP.

Patient Safety

  • Promotes patient safety in alignment with the Vision, Mission, Values and Strategic Directions of the LHIN
  • Works within the basic principles of patient safety by doing the right thing for the right patient, using the right method at the right time
  • Adheres to the LHIN’s patient safety policies and procedures



  • Post-secondary/Master’s degree in epidemiology, statistics, health planning, business administration or relevant field.

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Proficient in the analysis of the technical components of data requests
  • Solid understanding of provincial, clinical and administrative data sets and portals (e.g., IntelliHealth, iPort Access, CHRIS)
  • Solid understanding of statistical methodologies
  • Ability to create reports based on analyzed data
  • Ability to use related software (e.g. SAS, SQL, MS Excel)
  • Ability to express complex ideas clearly and effectively to a non-technical audience
  • Understanding of the Ontario health care system.
